About the Balliol Hall
The Balliol Hall is situated next to the Church of St Peter & All Hallows at the heart of the village of West Huntspill in Somerset.
It offers two large function rooms (the Main Hall and the School Room), a well equipped kitchen and a car park with space for approximately 20 cars.
The Hall is available for hire to members of the public and is a fantastic venue for events and occasions, such as parties, jumble sales, fund raising events, meetings, wedding receptions, etc.
The Main Hall
The Main Hall has an area of approximately 120 square metres. There is a large store room off to the side which can be used by regular hirers to store equipment with the permission of the management committee.
The Hall is equiped with an ample supply of tables and chairs with additional tables and chairs available from the Store Room for either room.

The Main Hall has a stage of approximately 25 square metres which is raised by a hydraulic mechanism. With the stage raised the size of the room is reduced.
The stage is not in place as a matter of course so if the stage is required, please make this clear at the time of booking.
The School Room
As can be seen from the floor plan, the School Room is a smaller space than the Main Hall and is more suitable for smaller gatherings, or as a break-out room. It is still large enough to accommodate sporting activities and makes an excellent meeting room.
The Kitchen
The kitchen is equipped with range oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave oven and catering boiler. There is crockery and cutlery available for around 100 place settings. It can be used by both halls via independent serving hatches.
Other Facilities
Both halls are equipped with an ample supply of tables and chairs with additional tables and chairs available from the store room for either room.
There is a hearing loop in both halls.
A Baby Changing Unit is situated in the toilet for the disabled.
Heating of both halls is controlled by the use of tokens inserted into meter boxes. One is provided in each hall and each token lasts exactly one hour. Tokens are provided by the Booking Secretary.
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ASSISTANCE DOGS, ANIMALS ARE NOT ALLOWED WITHIN THE PREMISES WITHOUT PRIOR CONSENT OF THE HALL COMMITTEE.
Car Parking
There is a car park with space for approximately 20 cars.
On road parking is available in Church Road, which is a residential area, much of which has no pavement. Hall users parking in the road are therefore asked to be considerate of local residents.
